Rep. Cole Hefner, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 5th district since 2017, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing local activism, legislative updates, and the passing of a conservative leader.

On September 9, 2025, Hefner commented on reports regarding activism in Houston: “Muslim activists are going business-to-business in Houston, threatening merchants with ‘demonstrations’ unless they remove alcohol, pork, and gambling items within 30 days to comply with so-called Islamic law. Let me be clear: this is Texas — not a Sharia city. Our laws are”.

Later that day, Hefner shared details about his participation at a community event: “Last night, I had the privilege of joining my good friend Senator Bryan Hughes at the East Texans for Liberty meeting in Gilmer to share a legislative update. We covered the important work we’re doing in Austin to defend our values, protect our communities, and keep Texas strong.”

On September 10, 2025, Hefner addressed the death of Charlie Kirk: “Charlie Kirk was fearless and innovative in shaping the next generation of conservative leaders. He poured his heart into equipping young Americans to boldly stand for faith, freedom, and the values that make our nation strong. His tragic passing is heartbreaking. We have lost a”.

Hefner has served as state representative since replacing Bryan Hughes in 2017.
