Rep. Cole Hefner, a Republican representing Texas’s 5th House district since 2017, has recently used his social media platform to comment on ongoing legislative efforts and actions taken in the Texas State House.
On August 6, 2025, Hefner posted: “We’re here working…and if we have to come back, we’ll come back…we’re going to get it done sooner or later.”
The following day, August 7, 2025, Hefner expressed support for Speaker Burrows regarding measures aimed at Democratic lawmakers: “Speaker @Burrows4TX is doing what it takes to hold runaway Democrats accountable—first with arrest warrants, now with legal action across state lines. Proud to stand with him as he fights to restore order and get the Texas House back to work. #txlege https://t.co/D7QXu3fGiC”
On August 8, 2025, Hefner commented on new security initiatives in Texas: “Texas doesn’t wait around when it comes to protecting our people.
That’s why I was proud to sponsor SB 36 in the Texas House—now becoming reality with the creation of the new Homeland Security Division within DPS. This is a major step forward in our fight to defend Texas from”
Hefner has served in the Texas State House since being elected in 2017. He succeeded Bryan Hughes as representative of the state’s 5th House district.
