Congressman Nathaniel Moran, representing Texas’ 1st district since 2023, recently shared his views on energy policy and land ownership through a series of tweets. Moran, who succeeded Louie Gohmert in Congress, is an advocate for prioritizing domestic resources and security.

On July 7, 2025, Moran expressed support for President Biden’s decision to end subsidies for foreign-controlled energy sources. He stated that “American taxpayer dollars should not support unreliable foreign-controlled energy.” Emphasizing the reliability and affordability of East Texas-produced energy, he endorsed the administration’s move as a step towards putting “America first.”

The following day, on July 8, Moran highlighted concerns about foreign ownership of American farmland. In his tweet, he noted that “more than 265,000 acres in the United States are owned by Chinese Nationals.” He praised Secretary Rollins for taking bold actions to safeguard national interests.

Later on July 8, Congressman Moran called upon the community spirit of East Texans in a message of solidarity with Central Texas. His tweet urged local residents to show their support during challenging times: “Generosity is in our DNA, East Texas. Let’s stand strong with Central Texas in their time of need.”

Nathaniel Moran was born in Whitehouse, Texas in 1974 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Texas Tech University with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor degree.
