Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who has represented Texas’s 1st District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared a series of updates via social media regarding constituent feedback and legislative actions. Moran, born in Whitehouse, Texas in 1974 and an alumnus of Texas Tech University, replaced Louie Gohmert in Congress and continues to engage with East Texans on key issues.

On July 10, 2025, Moran addressed concerns about the effectiveness of severe weather alerts received by East Texans. He stated: “I asked East Texans if they feel confident in the severe weather alerts and warnings they currently receive. The results are clear: 49% said NO. Two weeks ago, I re-introduced the bi-partisan Rural Weather Monitoring Systems Act with @RepEricSorensen —a former meteorologist in”.

The following day, July 11, 2025, Moran reported on constituent responses after the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB). He wrote: “Last week, after the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), I asked East Texans how they would have voted. The results were clear: East Texans want the border secured, Trump’s tax cuts made permanent, and Washington waste cut, and that’s exactly what I voted for.”

Later on July 11, Moran commented on his participation at an event in Kerrville to support families affected by a recent tragedy. He posted: “Heartbroken, but honored to stand in unity alongside fellow Texas members of Congress today in Kerrville to support grieving families, and to say thank you to so many local, state and federal workers and volunteers for their heroic efforts. Thank you @POTUS for supporting the”.

Nathaniel Moran is currently serving as a member of Congress from Texas’ 1st district. He holds both a BA and JD from Texas Tech University and resides in Whitehouse.
