Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’ 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of national and international issues, including government funding, the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, and artificial intelligence policy.

On October 6, 2025, Moran raised concerns about potential impacts of congressional gridlock on Texas businesses, writing, “If Democrats continue to hold the federal government hostage, small businesses across Texas could face a $307 Million delay in loans. Why are Democrats putting hard-working Americans last?”

The following day, marking the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack in Israel, Moran posted: “We should never forget the barbaric events of October 7, 2023 when Hamas murdered over 1,200 innocent Israeli civilians and took another 251 hostage. 48 hostages remain in captivity. Today—on this two year anniversary of Oct. 7—I joined former hostages and families of current” (October 7, 2025).

Later that same day, Moran commented on the growing significance of artificial intelligence, stating, “AI has vast implications across national security, economic competitiveness and civil society. The time to act on AI is now. The United States must set the standards, not the Chinese Communist Party. Read my latest op-ed in The Hill: https://t.co/aMRJMCDjcL” (October 7, 2025).

Moran began serving as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 1st district in 2023 after replacing Louie Gohmert. He was elected in 2022 with a significant majority, receiving over 78% of the vote against Jrmar Jefferson.
