Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues of healthcare spending and government fiscal policy in a series of posts on his social media account.

On July 22, 2025, Moran highlighted concerns about duplicate enrollment in federal health programs, stating, “.@CMSGov reports 2.8 million Americans double-enrolled in Medicaid/CHIP or ACA plans—wasting an estimated $14 billion a year. Later that day, he focused on healthcare challenges faced by seniors in East Texas. In a post dated July 22, 2025, he wrote: “In East Texas, over 83,000 seniors rely on Medicare Advantage—but too often, prior authorization red tape increases costs to the taxpayer and ultimately delays or denies medically necessary care. At today’s hearing @WaysandMeansGOP, I spoke up for rural communities and pushed”.

The following day, Moran discussed government spending reforms through constitutional means. On July 23, 2025, he posted: “We do it in our families. We do it in our businesses. This is a constitutional amendment designed to end Washington’s cycle of reckless spending and restore”.

Nathaniel Moran has served as a member of Congress since replacing Louie Gohmert in 2023 and currently resides in Whitehouse, Texas. Born there in 1974 and now aged 48, Moran holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Texas Tech University.
