Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from human rights in China to the anniversary of major American legislation and historic wartime achievements.
On August 14, 2025, Moran posted about Chinese human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng: “Where is Gao Zhisheng? For eight years one of China’s most courageous voices for justice, human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, disappeared. Once named one of China’s top ten lawyers and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Gao boldly defended the voiceless: underground Christians,” he wrote.
Later that day, on August 14, 2025, Moran recognized the anniversary of a significant piece of American legislation: “90 years ago the Social Security Act was signed into law. Thanks to @POTUS leadership, the program is more efficient than ever before: – Reducing field office wait times by 30% – Reducing call wait times by 80% while handling twice as many calls – 24/7/365 online account access”.
On August 15, 2025, Moran marked another milestone in U.S. history with a post commemorating World War II: “Eighty years ago, the United States and our Allies triumphed in World War II. We remember the grit, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit of the Americans who answered the call, and we honor the victory they secured for freedom.”
Nathaniel Moran has represented Texas’s 1st congressional district since replacing Louie Gohmert in 2023. He won his seat after defeating Jrmar Jefferson in the general election with over three-quarters of the vote.
