Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform to comment on ongoing budget negotiations and legislative efforts by House Republicans in late September 2025.
On September 29, Moran wrote, “.@HouseGOP put forward a clean plan to keep the government open. Democrats said no — holding federal workers’ paychecks hostage to squeeze out political concessions.”
The following day, September 30, he posted another message: “.@HouseGOP is standing tall with our military, veterans, families, and first responders. House Republicans passed a clean CR to fund the government, but Senate Democrats are blocking it from becoming law—just like the House Democrats tried to do.
Democrats would rather shut”
Later that same day, Moran added a brief note of appreciation: “Thanks for having me! https://t.co/wHU633I6hK”
Nathaniel Moran has served as the representative for Texas’s 1st District since 2023 after succeeding Louie Gohmert. He was elected in 2022 after defeating Jrmar Jefferson with 78.1% of the vote compared to Jefferson’s 21.9%. Moran’s recent posts reflect ongoing partisan disagreements over government funding measures and highlight his support for federal employees and first responders.
