Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several community initiatives and meetings in East Texas through a series of social media posts.

On March 30, 2026, Moran shared his participation at a local event: “Honored to attend the ribbon cutting for the Sabinetown Recreation Area at Toledo Bend alongside the Fishers of Men Bass Tournament. This new facility is a strong investment in our community—supporting local families and creating opportunities for fishing tournaments across East”.

Later that day, he discussed efforts to boost economic development following a meeting with Henderson’s city manager: “Great to meet with Jay Abercrombie, City Manager of Henderson, to discuss opportunities to strengthen economic development in the region. Local leadership partnerships are key to supporting growth, jobs, and long-term investment in East Texas. East Texas communities continue to”.

On March 31, 2026, Moran emphasized support for law enforcement after meeting with Rusk County Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez: “Supporting law enforcement is part of putting American communities first and ensuring East Texas remains safe and secure. Great to meet with Rusk County Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez to discuss ongoing efforts to protect our communities and support those who serve on the front lines.”

Nathaniel Moran has served as the representative for Texas’s 1st district since 2023 after replacing Louie Gohmert. He was elected in 2022 by defeating Jrmar Jefferson with over 78% of the vote. Born in Whitehouse, Texas in 1974, Moran continues to reside there and holds both a BA and JD from Texas Tech University.
