Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’ 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has posted a series of updates on social media regarding the ongoing government shutdown and his recent meetings with constituents.

On November 4, 2025, Moran addressed the duration of the government shutdown, stating “It’s Day 35 of the government shutdown, tying the longest in American history. Thousands of federal employees are still doing their jobs without pay. Reminder: @HouseGOP voted to keep the government open. Senate Democrats are blocking it. Just a handful could end this stalemate”.

The following day, November 5, he commented further on the situation: “The longest government shutdown in American history. There is no prize for the milestone we’ve hit today and there is no win for the American people. I joined @SpeakerJohnson and @HouseGOP colleagues to discuss how Senate Democrats’ continued obstruction is hurting the American”.

On November 6, Moran shared details about his engagement with local stakeholders: “Great visit with the Texas Farm Credit to discuss how we can continue supporting East Texans. Their commitment to providing reliable credit and financial services helps keep our rural communities strong.”

Nathaniel Moran has represented Texas’s 1st District since 2023 after succeeding Louie Gohmert in Congress. In the general election held in 2022, he won decisively against Jrmar Jefferson with over 78% of the vote.
