Congressman Nathaniel Moran, who represents Texas’ 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media accounts discussing gas prices, weekly constituent updates, and concerns about cybersecurity threats linked to China.
On September 1, 2025, Moran noted lower fuel costs for the holiday: “️ This Labor Day, holiday gas prices are at their lowest in half a decade: https://t.co/CFNdHC5rFz”.
The following day, September 2, Moran highlighted his regular communication with constituents through weekly recaps: “What’s happening in ETX and D.C.? We break it down each week in the Moran Minute. Catch last week’s highlights & stay tuned for the next one: https://t.co/BgdEd9PFeJ https://t.co/zZnCqrquCk”.
Later that same day, he raised concerns about foreign cyber operations targeting Americans: “Salt Typhoon shows the CCP’s playbook, planned since 2019 and spanning 80+ countries. It breached “secure” lines and swept up everyday Americans’ calls. No one wants Beijing listening in. We must boost FBI & local cyber capabilities and build a strong perimeter against CCP”.
Moran has served as the representative for Texas’s 1st District since replacing Louie Gohmert in 2023 and won his seat by defeating Jrmar Jefferson with over three-quarters of the vote in the 2022 general election.
