Rep. Cole Hefner, a Republican who has represented Texas’s 5th House district since 2017, posted a series of messages on social media between October 13 and October 15, 2025, addressing national leadership, local events, and political stances.

On October 13, Hefner commented on the national climate, expressing support for the president: “The significance of this this day and the tremendous leadership of our President is undeniable. A truly amazing day in history. Thank you, President Trump. Peace through strength.”

He then reflected on a local event in Gilmer, Texas, in a post on October 14: “Last week, East Texans for Liberty hosted their annual gala in Gilmer! I had the honor of serving as the emcee for the evening, and it was a great night celebrating liberty and conservative values right here in East Texas. Big thanks to Senator Mayes Middleton for joining us as”

On October 15, Hefner addressed Texas’s approach to foreign policy, thanking the state’s governor and contrasting it with actions in another state: “Thank you, Gov @GregAbbott_TX, for standing strong against our foreign adversaries. What an embarrassment — and a travesty — for California. #txlege”

Hefner has served in the Texas State House since 2017, having succeeded Bryan Hughes as the representative for the 5th House district.
