CHAPEL HILL ISD: CHISD students head to VASE art competition

Chapel Hill ISD issued the following announcement.

The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve.  

Students will be interviewed by professional artists which will score art students 1-4, 4 being the best.  75% is based on the visual  advancement of the art piece and 25% is based off the interview.  The students will have to explain the originality, technique and meaning behind their art in a matter of 10 minutes.  

Students who receive a "4" will medal and have a chance for state.  Only 8 - 10 % of the medaling art will have the privilege of advancing to State.   Art can be 2D or 3D.  

The Region 7 VASE art competition will be Saturday the 29th of February.  It will start around 8:00am and end around 4:30 pm.
