PARIS – The Paris Junior College Board of Regents has approved an increase in credit hour pricing for the upcoming school year.
According to KSST Radio, the Feb. 24 regents meeting included the approval of a $1 per semester credit hour increase for in- and out-of-district tuition beginning with the Fall 2020 semester. Among the decisions reached, the regents also decided to not make changes to the current dual credit tuition and fees system.
The meeting yielded a number of other updates, such as a financial report from Controller Keitha Carlton that showed expenses remained below revenue for the fiscal year; a report showing the school received the lowest loss ratio of 2018-2019 for the Claims Administrative Services Workers Compensation Awards; and the lowest three-year ratio for the same period.
According to KSST, Paris Junior College also reported "the average amount spent per full-time student equivalent is $5,040 compared to $7,409 as the state average. Most East Texas colleges are below the state average.”
Paris Junior College also welcomed Megan Chapman as student activities coordinator, Jon Eubanks as physical plant director, and Rafael Ramirez as campus police officer.
The next regular board meeting is March 31.
