City of Stephenville issued the following announcement.
At approximately 9:30 PM the City of Stephenville was notified of a second positive test for COVID-19. The test was administered at the Stephenville Medical Surgical Clinic. “I have been advised by City Health Officer Kelly Doggett that the individual who received a positive COVID-19 test was notified tonight.
Dr. Doggett also advised that the patient is a resident of Stephenville and has been quarantined at their home since the test was administered.”, stated City Manager Allen Barnes. Barnes stated he notified City Council after finding out. Mayor Doug Svien said, “Our Emergency Management Team is monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We are in touch daily with the Texas State Department of Health Services as well as Dr. Kelly Doggett, our Public Health Officer, Texas Health Resources, Stephenville Medical Surgical Clinic, and SurePoint Emergency.” The three facilities are the facilities providing testing services for COVID in Stephenville. We will continue to update our residents to any changes in the COVID- 19.
The City of Stephenville also reminds everyone we are in a county-wide shelter in place order and that only essential trips outside of the home are advised. Please continue to observe the CDC guidelines by keeping six feet apart, wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, nose, or mouth, stay at home when you are sick, cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue and wash your hands immediately, disinfect surfaces frequently.
