Daingerfield_Lone Star ISD issued the following announcement on April 06.
The partnership between home and school must be stronger than it has ever been before.
Thank you for helping your students with their work packets. In this particular situation effort is more important than the correct answer. We realize that our students are working for the most part without their teachers’ instruction. Although the vast majority of the packet was material already covered, there might have been some work with which they did not feel comfortable. We know and understand. Again, the effort is what is important. The packets are due back at the campus on Monday, April 13.
On Monday, April 13 there will be bins to drop off the packets, and at the same time we will be passing out the new packet. This will be done from 10:30-1:00 during lunch pick-up and from 4:00-6:00 on the same day. On that particular day, lunches must be picked up at the student’s home campus so that the work packet can be turned in and the new one picked up. There will not be a Lone Star or Cason meal delivery on that day only.
We will send out reminders as April 13 draws closer. Students will have three weeks to complete the second packet of work. The second packet will be due back on May 4.
Notice: High School Students. In addition to the packet, if you are a high school student and are enrolled in on-line courses through Edmentum or dual credit courses through NTCC, it is very important that you complete these classes. Students who do not have internet access and are enrolled in one of these courses, should contact the high school office or the Administration Building. We will assist in any way we can to continue our students’ education.
There is a list of all teachers’ email addresses on the school website if you need to contact a teacher concerning any work in the packet. You may also call the Administration Building (903-645-2239) and leave a message.
Hopefully, all students and/or parents have all received at least one check-up call from a teacher if not more. It is our plan to maintain contact with all of our students through this situation.
Meals: A meal delivery site at the parking lot of the First Baptist Church in Cason will start on Tuesday, April 7. Meals for Thursday and Friday at all sites will be dispersed on Thursday, April 10 and no meal deliveries on Friday.
Thank you for all that you are doing while the school is closed. Let us know if there is any way we can help. We miss our students. Stay safe and have faith.
