Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Transportation Department is to provide safe, reliable, and quality service in a caring environment for students, staff, and community through well-trained, professional and positive staff.
TRANSPORTATION PLAN: In response to the Covid Pandemic
The following procedures will be followed on all buses when school starts:
Buses will be disinfected after each bus route is completed.
High touch areas will be wiped down after each bus run. Areas such as hand rails, door handles, seats, etc.
Buses will receive an extra disinfecting twice a week, once by backpack sprayer and once by disinfecting fogger.
Windows will be left open when possible to increase air flow.
Students will be required to wear masks while riding the bus.
Hand sanitizer will be used by drivers and riders as they enter and depart from the bus.
Family groups will sit together when possible. CHISD will encourage parents to carpool, or bring their students to school as much as possible. Due to space constraints and logistics, bus riders will lack the ability to properly social distance while riding the bus.
