Miller Grove ISD issued the following announcement.
This letter is to inform you, our Miller Grove family, following TEA guidelines and MGISD Back to School Protocols, that three students have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the students was already in quarantine before their diagnosis. A second student has not been at school since their exposure. The third student was at school, but did not exhibit any symptoms while here. We will be contacting parents of students who we believe to have been in “close contact” with the student within the last several days of their attendance. We believe that the exposure was limited and that the rest of our students are safe to remain at school.
In general, close contact is defined as:
- Being directly exposed to infectious secretions such as being coughed or sneezed on
- Being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes; however, additional factors like case/contact masking (i.e., both the infectious individual and the potential close contact have been consistently and properly masked). Ventilation, presence of dividers, and case symptomology may affect this determination.
Our maintenance and custodial staff are doing extensive cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of the campus to make sure that we are providing a safe place for our students to learn.
Please continue to do the daily self-screening of your children before sending them to school. If they are displaying any of the COVID-19 symptoms, please do not send them to school and consult your local physician.
COVID-19 Symptoms for Screening:
