East Texas charities receive grants from Francis Endowment Fund

Three charities serving the East Texas area have been awarded grants from the Mrs. A.D. Francis Endowment Fund.

The East Texas Communities Foundation reports that Winnsboro Community Resource Center (WCRC), Winnsboro Center for the Arts, and the East Texas Crisis Center received the grants, 

“We are pleased to carry out the legacy of Mrs. A.D. Francis with the assistance the Winnsboro Community Foundation,” Kyle Penney, president of East Texas Communities Foundation, said. “We greatly appreciate the help of the Winnsboro Community Foundation in selecting projects which meet the needs of the Winnsboro community.”

With the grant money, WCRC plans to purchase a commercial freezer. Winnsboro Center for the Arts plans to use the grant money for a book festival, and the East Texas Crisis Center will use the money to provide emergency financial assistance to victims who have been involved in family violence or sexual assault.
