Sulphur Bluff ISD schools Education: 27 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 27 Hispanic students enrolled in Sulphur Bluff ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 35% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Sulphur Bluff ISD schools welcomed 203 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 13.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Sulphur Bluff ISD roughly covers schools within Hopkins County and has a main office in Sulphur Bluff.

Sulphur Bluff ISD was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 27 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
