Cost of college went up for all students at Texas A&M University-Texarkana

In-state tuition and fees rose 5.7 percent for 2018-19 at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $7,363 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $400 more than the $6,963 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 163.4 percent more than residents this year, or $19,392. Their price tag grew 5.5 percent from $18,375 in 2017-18.

About 87 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. About 10 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 201 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.6 million and 131 students took out student loans totaling more than $817,249.

Including all undergraduates (2,097), 1,295 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.8 million, and 933 students took out $7.2 million in federal student loans.
