How many students were enrolled in Marion County schools during 2023-24 school year?

There were 1,106 students enrolled in Marion County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 2.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Marion County had the 61st lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 56.8% of the student body, the largest percentage in Marion County schools, followed by Black students at 29.9%, Hispanic students at 7.3%, Asian students at 0.7%, American Indian students at 0.3% and multiracial students at 5%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
