Bryan Slaton, a candidate running for Texas' House District 2, has recently signed on to the Big Family Pledge, committing to defending American families from left-wing activist policies.

Striving to make the family the most powerful, well-represented special-interest group in Washington, D.C., the American Principles Project (APP) is the only national pro-family organization engaging directly in campaigns and elections. APP's newest initiative is The Big Family Pledge.

APP recognizes that American families are under attack by "woke left-wing activists who seek to undermine parents." To combat the radicals who believe the government should have the final say over the upbringing of America's youth, APP has established The Big Family Pledge, which asks candidates to commit to protecting American families from left-wing activist policies.

“The tide is changing in American politics,” APP President Terry Schilling said. “As the woke Left has pushed their agenda to ever further extremes, voters are recognizing the severe danger this agenda poses to their families and especially their children. Issues like defending women’s sports, protecting kids from harmful sex change procedures and removing ideological indoctrination from schools are becoming high priorities that will have a significant influence on the outcome of this year’s midterm elections.”

The Big Family Pledge was launched in February to help inform families about candidates who stand with them, according to Schilling.

“We would encourage any candidates who have not yet signed to join them, so that pro-family voters can go to the polls with confidence knowing who they can trust to protect their interests in office,” he said.

The Big Family Pledge asks candidates to promise to “actively support legislation, litigation and other efforts” that would: (1) Defend girls’ sports by prohibiting biological males from participating, including at the collegiate level; (2) Protect children from experimental “gender transition” procedures, including irreversible surgeries, chemical castration and psychiatric neglect; (3) Let kids be kids and protect them from dangerous and divisive propaganda being taught in schools, such as critical race theory and gender ideology; (4) Safeguard children from exposure to pornography, obscenity and indecency; (5) Protect life from conception to natural death.

So far, the pro-family pledge has received the signatures of 86 candidates representing 25 different U.S. states. Among the pledge's supporters are four of the top Republican contenders in the Pennsylvania Senate primary: Kathy Barnette, Dave McCormick, Mehmet Oz and Carla Sands.
