There were 2,358 students enrolled in Pittsburg ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.6% of them were boys, and 47.4% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Pittsburg ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 44% of the student population.

Pittsburg ISD roughly covers schools within Camp County with its main office in Pittsburg.

Among the five schools in Pittsburg ISD, Pittsburg High School recorded the highest enrollment of 697 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
