Camp County schools enrolled 1,120 students who identified as being at risk during the 2021-22 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 2.5% decrease from the previous school year.

Of the 2,358 students enrolled in Camp County schools, 47.5% of them are considered to be at risk.

Camp County had the 104th lowest number of at-risk students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
