There were 123 students enrolled in Avinger ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 10.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were boys, and 48% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 69.1% of the Avinger ISD total enrollment.

Avinger ISD roughly covers schools within Cass County with its main office in Avinger.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
