There were 431 students enrolled in Cumby ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.3% of them were girls, and 45.7% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 82.6% of the Cumby ISD total enrollment.

Cumby ISD roughly covers schools within Hopkins County with its main office in Cumby.

Among the two schools in Cumby ISD, Cumby High School recorded the highest enrollment of 216 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
