Pewitt CISD Education: 833 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 833 students enrolled in Pewitt CISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 60.4% of the Pewitt CISD total enrollment.

Pewitt CISD roughly covers schools within Morris County with its main office in Omaha.

Among the three schools in Pewitt CISD, Pewitt Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 405 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
