Clarksville ISD welcomed 522 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 522 students enrolled in Clarksville ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Clarksville ISD students was African American, accounting for 46.4% of the student population.

Clarksville ISD roughly covers schools within Red River County with its main office in Clarksville.

Among the two schools in Clarksville ISD, Cheatham Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 272 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
