There were 1,061 students enrolled in Chapel Hill ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 53.5% of the Chapel Hill ISD total enrollment.

Chapel Hill ISD roughly covers schools within Titus County with its main office in Mount Pleasant.

Among the three schools in Chapel Hill ISD, Chapel Hill Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 483 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
