There were 2,142 white students enrolled in Texarkana ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Texarkana ISD schools welcomed 7,180 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 29.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Texarkana ISD roughly covers schools within Bowie County and has a main office in Texarkana.

Among the 13 schools in Texarkana ISD schools, Texas High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 608 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
