There were 12 American Indian students enrolled in Liberty-Eylau ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Liberty-Eylau ISD schools welcomed 2,003 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Liberty-Eylau ISD roughly covers schools within Bowie County and has a main office in Texarkana.

Among the four schools in Liberty-Eylau ISD schools, Liberty-Eylau High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of seven students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
