Simms ISD schools Education: 18 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 18 Hispanic students enrolled in Simms ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Simms ISD schools welcomed 484 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 3.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Simms ISD roughly covers schools within Bowie County and has a main office in Simms.

Among the three schools in Simms ISD schools, James Bowie Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of nine students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
