There was one Pacific Islander student enrolled in North Hopkins ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that North Hopkins ISD schools welcomed 516 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

North Hopkins ISD roughly covers schools within Hopkins County and has a main office in Sulphur Springs.

North Hopkins Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled Pacific Islander students, welcoming one student in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
