There were 1,224 white students enrolled in Paris ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Paris ISD schools welcomed 3,856 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 31.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Paris ISD roughly covers schools within Lamar County and has a main office in Paris.

Among the eight schools in Paris ISD schools, Aikin Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 384 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
