There were 193 multiracial students enrolled in North Lamar ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 39.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that North Lamar ISD schools welcomed 2,450 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 7.9% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

North Lamar ISD roughly covers schools within Lamar County and has a main office in Paris.

Among the six schools in North Lamar ISD schools, Frank Stone Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 52 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
