Titus County schools enrolled 6,832 students during 2023-24 school year

There were 6,832 students enrolled in Titus County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Titus County had the 86th largest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that Hispanic students made up 64.8% of the student body, the largest percentage in Titus County schools, followed by white students at 23.8%, Black students at 8.9%, Asian students at 0.6%, American Indian students at 0.2%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 1.6%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
