Cass County Education: 5,411 students enrolled in 2023-24 school year

There were 5,411 students enrolled in Cass County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Cass County had the 94th largest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 67.4% of the student body, the largest percentage in Cass County schools, followed by Black students at 17.3%, Hispanic students at 8.4%, Asian students at 0.7%, American Indian students at 0.4%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 5.8%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
